Out with the old, in with the new!
Updated: Jun 16, 2019
For many years I set different goals that I could never achieve until the end, years went by and my goals were still underachieved and “untouched”. Over the years, I gained a lot of weight which made me feel ugly, fat and old. I felt I was aging to fast, could not breath properly and my skin looked tired. I started different diets, tried to get into sports but somehow, I could not go on with it….it was to hard to follow the “plan” until the end, too hard to commit. Results were not showing as fast as I imagined and I felt like I was wasting my time and gave up every time, I was getting bored with myself, starting with energy but ending up disappointed. You would ask disappointed? Why? Because I could not finish one single goal so I took the easy road…. giving up, which was very wrong. Of course, giving up was wrong but I felt that no matter what I did nothing will work.
I knew I needed discipline to fulfill my goal so I started having just one goal: having a personal trainer twice a week. Luckily, I found a private Gym which offers classes only with the trainer and the gym belongs the two of us for the entire workout. This was actually what I needed because I hate training where the Gym is full with people who look good, I wanted something safe and non-judgmental for my ego to survive.
There is almost nothing which can stop you, if your determination is big enough, nothing can stop you from achieving what you want. Really? Yes, really! I started this fitness journey and suddenly this time everything felt very easy to follow.
My personal trainer has so much positive energy and such a beautiful character that i did not feel pressured at all going to the gym, it was a very positive feeling that this time i will make it no matter what.
So, i set one goal, going to the Gym twice a week, for the first 2 months i worked hard and my body felt sore every time after completing my workout, still, i did not give up! I continued and started going to the gym three times a week, frequency which i still have at the moment, the difference is: my body does not feel sore anymore, i can breath better, sleep better, no sickness and in the best physical condition ever. I must say i did not loose the weight i wanted but i decided to not let that thought put me down and make me quit. I decided my first goal was to train twice a week and this is what i should do, so no matter if i loose weight or not, i will go on with my plan, finally!
"It take 21 days to create a habit, it takes 90 days to create a lifestyle!" whoever said that or whoever created that rule was a genius, its not only true but if you really want something then its also happening. My goal was to go to the gym, this goal became a habit and after almost 6 months its still a lifestyle, i am so proud of myself being able to achieve this!
I love it, i love my new lifestyle, i know i can start with another goal and i know that, if i am strong enough, each goal that i set, can be easily achieved. Why? ...because i can!
